Welcome to Barnsley and District branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A).
We are a lively and friendly organisation offering a wide range of study, creative and leisure groups for the retired and semi-retired. It is a good way to meet people and make new friends. Costs are low because our activities are organised by our members who share their skills and expertise. We have interest groups meeting regularly and once a month we have a meeting open to all members where we normally have a speaker.
We have lunches twice a month at local pubs, and day trips and holidays arranged to places of general or group interest. Use the menu above to explore in detail what we have to offer.

To find out more please contact our Membership Secretary on 0751 2206 285 and maybe arrange to come along to one of our Monthly Meetings on the first Monday of each month at 1:30pm, Priory Campus, Pontefract Road, Lundwood.
Our Choir gave a concert at Wombwell Parish Church on 6 March 2012 to Wombwell Mixed Probus and friends. The concert was very successful and you can watch an excerpt on YouTube by clicking on the photograph - but do come back.
The next Monthly Meeting will be on 28th May - when the guest speaker will be from The Rotary Club of Stainborough and will talk about their “water boreholes project in Ghana”.
