Book Forum Group 2  

We meet on on the first Tuesday of the month (unless there is a Bank Holiday on the day before) at Birdwell Community Hall at 11:30 am.

We like to chose a varied selection of books and occasionally we will try to get an author to to give us a talk

In October 2009 we were very lucky to have a local author come to talk to us.  She was a delightful and dedicated person who writes suspense romance.  Her pen name? - Victoria Howard, shown on the left with members  of our group . Victoria now lives in Pilley.  The Barnsley area seems to have more than its fair share of famous authors!

We have two book groups meeting monthly to discuss books chosen by the members of each group. Sometimes we swap the books.

We have some lively, informal discussions which help to make the books more memorable and interesting.

Book Forum Group 1 Meets on a Monday.     Book Forum Group 2 meets on a Tuesday.

Book Forum Group 1

We meet at Worsbrough Library at 12.30 pm on the second  Monday of each month for about an hour, sometimes longer. We try to pick books on a wide variety of subjects so that we read ones that maybe we wouldn’t pick up normally. We also like to read one of the great classic novels each year.
