French Groups

p

French Language and Culture.  FULL

Meetings take place weekly, on Tuesday mornings at Birdwell Community Centre.

This group is made up of members who are interested in improving their understanding and use of French - most of us have not used the language since our school-days. Some members have rather more knowledge and help others to enjoy exploring and using French.

We also share our experiences of France - through discussion of holidays, places and events. Our basic belief is that you are never too old to get to grips with a different language.

Conversational French    SOME PLACES

This group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon at Birdwell Community Centre from 2.00-4.00 pm.  We are currently using a French Course book written for adults which is useful for its grammar content, dialogues and builds in progression.  We also use the CDs associated with the course.  We mostly talk rather than use written exercises and several activities involve working with a partner (anyone in the group).  We tell French jokes, sing songs, read poems, perform playlets and play games.  It’s fun !

There are two French Language Groups.
